New York, 10th September 2026 – The United Nations (UN) Secretary-General, António Guterres, has congratulated President Hakainde Hichilema on his re-election and assumption of a second term as President of the Republic of Zambia. President Hichilema was re-elected in the presidential election held on 13th August 2026 and was sworn into office for his second term on 1st September 2026.
