Important Visa Application Information

  1. Applicants who wish to have their passports mailed to them after processing should include a prepaid, self-addressed return envelope. For tracking purposes, the Embassy highly recommends the usage of a courier that has a tracking number such as FedEx, United States Postal Services (USPS) or certified mail.
  2. All travelers to and from Zambia are required to be in possession of either a Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate or a valid waiver certificate.

Requirements for visa applications must be submitted in the following order: Business Visa

  1. Passport

  3. Photocopy of your passport
  4. Two (2) visa application forms with two (2) photos stapled to upper right corner
  5. Invitation Letter from Zambia
  6. Official cover letter
  7. Flight itinerary or a copy of ticket

Diplomatic/Official Visa

Tourist Visa

Passport

The Government of the Republic of Zambia has introduced digitised Machine Readable Passports.
Applicants below the age of ten (10) years will be eligible to apply for separate passports, which will be valid for 5 years.
Passport Application Procedures

  2. Passport Application fees listed below should be submitted along with the Application package:
    1. 32-Page Passport – USD $100.00
    2. 48-Page Passport – USD $150.00
    3. Travel Document of Identity – USD $20.00

    Other Fees:

    1. Penalty Fee for a Lost Passport – USD $25
    2. Penalty Fee for Travel Document of Identity – USD $15
    3. Replacement of a lost 48-Page Executive Passport – USD $125
    4. Replacement of a lost 32-Page Regular Passport – USD $100

Pending Applications

    1. Send an e-mail requesting a status update to un@grz.gov.zm In the subject box, write “Passport status update”. In the body of the e-mail, include the following:
      1. Applicants name in full
      2. Date of submission and receipt number
      3. Applicants telephone number
    2. For applicants who should send additional payment, mail the money order or cashier’s check of the difference to:

Births, Deaths and Marriages

Registration of birth is compulsory. Birth Certificates are available to any applicant born on or after January 1, 1973 and can be obtained by the applicant applying to:

If a Birth Certificate was not issued at birth, but a Hospital Record of Birth or Baptismal Certificate was obtained, an Affidavit must be prepared by a member of the applicant’s family having knowledge of the birth.

The Affidavit must be sworn to before an officer authorized to administer oaths. The Hospital or Baptismal Certificate must be attached to the Affidavit, and submitted to the Registrar General requesting issuance of a late Birth Certificate.

As part of our mandate as a Mission, we need to account for all Zambian nationals resident in the Tri-state area (New York, New Jersey and Connecticut).

We to know all the Zambian nationals living in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, and their full contact information for the purpose of emergency and normal exchange of information on the developments in Zambia.
